Seville
Visited the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world in Seville. Too big to take a photo. Aslo the Alcazae, Royal Palace. Very impressive. Had Carols birthday lunch & dinner there, and took a horse & buggy road around town.
Monsuraz, another walled city.
Stayed overnight at a free motor home camp at the base of the old city, perched high on a hill with magnificent views over the lakes and river, into Spain.
Medieval walled towns Portugal
Explored the towns of Obidos & Evora, two old walled cities. In Evora they had dug up thousands of skeletons of monks that had died over hundreds of years and built a chapel whose interior walls were completely constructed of bones. The inscription over the entrance translated roughly to " You who look at us now will soon be joining us", to show how short our lives are.
